Faith Formation

We believe faith formation is vital for everyone, on all walks of life. Throughout the many ages and stages of life, it’s important to have a place to ask questions, wrestle with dilemmas, and grow in our relationship with God and one another. At Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church we have a variety of opportunities and activities for you to engage with so that you may continue to nurture your faith journey.

If you are interested in attending any of these ministries or would like more information, please contact the church office at office@warnermemorial.org!

Faith Formation Ministries

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

Every Sunday at 9:30 AM, a group meets in the Common Room and on Zoom for reflection and study. Whether it’s working our way through a book together, spending time in a devotional, or pondering the Scripture for the morning’s worship, this time of gathering is an opportunity for you to dive deeper into the Word together!

Press Pause

Every Tuesday at noon, join Rev. Adele Crawford for a weekly bible study. This “chat and chew” gathering is an opportunity for folks from Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church to meet and discuss the scripture passage for the upcoming Sunday service. All are welcome!

Seasonal Offerings

Throughout the year we will have various opportunities to gather for discussion and study. Depending on the liturgical season, we might join for a bible or book study. We often have special speakers come to lead worship and to lead discussions or workshops after worship.

PrayGround

Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church believes and expresses that all are welcome to participate in worship! We have created a kid-friendly space at the front of our sanctuary for little ones and their families to be part of worship. Our hope is to create less stress for parents by providing a space where their children can be themselves and not feel like they have to be perfectly still or silent. Equipped with books, tables and coloring pages, small toys, a fun mat, and plenty of space, our Prayerground is designed to allow our kiddos to get their wiggles out while also participating in worship at their pace. Rev. Adele often makes a point of including children in worship, and doesn’t shy away breaking out a tambourine and playing music with our kids or encouraging a little dancing during hymns! Children are welcome and encouraged to be their full selves at Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church!

Sunday School

On Sundays at 11:15, for families who are interested, we offer Sunday School for our preschool and early elementary students. Miss Shervonne, our Sunday School teacher, makes sure to share a bible story, a game or craft, and some fun play for all who attend!

Collaborative Youth Ministry

In September of 2023, we co-created the Collaborative Youth Ministry! Alongside four other Presbyterian churches in our Presbytery in Montgomery County (Colesville, Northwood, Rockville, and Takoma Park) we created a group for 4- 6th graders to gather in community. We meet once a month, for about two hours, to talk about God, help our community, share a meal. and just generally have fun! If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please contact the office!

Presbytery Wide Confirmation

Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church has joined with other churches across National Capital Presbytery and Black Presbyterians United to participate in a joint confirmation class. This is a rich opportunity for our youth to build connections with other ministries and to nurture their faith with others in the area.
