Holy Week Schedule

Join us as we accompany Jesus on his triumphal entry to Jerusalem, follow him to the table, the garden and the cross, and finally discover him at the empty tomb.

PALM SUNDAY ~ APRIL 2, 11 AM
We'll celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and prepare our hearts for the rest of this Holy Week. The Deacons will host a light brunch immediately following worship. *Please note, though it is the first Sunday of the month, we will NOT have communion on Palm Sunday*

LABYRINTH WALK ~ HOLY TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2-4 PM
Bethesda United Church of Christ, 10010 Fernwood Rd., Bethesda, MD 20817
This is a perfect way to ask God your questions. Come for this contemplative walk at our neighbor congregation. Different from a maze, in a labyrinth you don't need to make a decision about where you are going, you just need to keep following the path. Come any time from 2-4 PM for time reserved especially for Warner.

VESPERS ON ZOOM ~ HOLY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 7 PM
Join Rev. Adele and Peter Smeallie online at 7 PM for a simple contemplative prayer service during Lent. Wednesday evening vespers will be offered on Zoom throughout Lent, on our non-worship Zoom room #7171270266.

MAUNDY THURSDAY ~ APRIL 6, 7:30 PM
In the Common Room and on Zoom, come as we gather around the Table and hear the stories of Jesus' last hours with his friends. If you are joining us on Zoom, gather something to eat and drink for Communion and perhaps a candle to light.

GOOD FRIDAY ~ APRIL 7
We invite you to observe Good Friday on your own. Read Matthew 27:27-50. Use the reflections in our Seeking devotional to guide your time. Or contemplate on these questions: What are you afraid of? What emotions does this week stir up in you? How do you sit with these emotions? You might journal, pray, take a walk, draw or paint as part of your response.

EASTER SUNDAY ~ APRIL 9, FESTIVAL WORSHIP AT 11 AM
We'll celebrate the holiest day on the Christian calendar, the Resurrection of our Lord! In our regular hybrid worship (both on site and on Zoom) we'll celebrate this day with beautiful music, scripture, meditation, and Communion. We'll also dedicate our One Great Hour of Sharing offering, which supports Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People.

All are welcome, always!
