Class Descriptions

All Sunday morning educational activities are currently being offered on an online, remote meeting format.

9:30 – 10:45: Adult Study

This class is structured around the Revised Common Lectionary which allows participants to join in a conversation with the wider church, knowing that many Christians around the world are considering the same scripture that Sunday. The class uses Feasting on The Word as the basis for its discussions. The curriculum asks the same four organizing questions: what, where, so what, and now what?

The class encourages open and honest conversations, where each participant brings their own understanding to the table. Please join us! Once you are comfortable with the format, you may even want to volunteer to lead a class!

9:30 - 12:30 Christian Education for Young Children

We understand that remote/online practices are most difficult – and least suited – for young children. We are committed to working with parents to ensure that families can safely participate in Sunday morning CE offerings and the common worship of the church. Children’s use of a separate device from their parents – whether audio only or audio and video – will provide a way for parents to be in the same physical space while at times engaging in different ZOOM rooms, during the Sunday morning schedule. Families that use the same device, may indicate which room they want to join together.

During the Adult Study time until the start of worship at 11am, a separate supervised room will be open for young children to share in Christian fellowship and be exposed to some of the ABC's of the faith, such as learning how to pray.

At the commencement of worship at 11am, we encourage children to participate in worship with their parents. Before the sermon, children will be invited to join the ‘virtual’ nursery. Here, our preschool teacher will use Growing in God’s Love: a Story Bible  to engage the children in the biblical text for the day, as well as offer a lesson based on that story. The nursery will close at 12:30pm.

Throughout the week, children are invited to consider the upcoming story using the children’s bulletin that is included in the weekly email sent to families. Please email the office at office@warnermemorial.org to be added to that email list – and include the name and grade level of your child.

We also plan to offer video bible lessons that can be incorporated into worship as the children’s message.

Lastly, young children will be invited to participate in occasional family outings to local parks where we may appreciate God’s creation and our time together safely and in person.
